April 20

Since I haven’t written in almost a month, I figured now would be a good time to point out the significance of this day. And no, this has nothing to do about technology, social media or the like; just my thoughts. Years from now when I’m famous (yeah…right) I can look back and realize that this date represents anniversaries of significant events that have occurred during my life thus far, none of which are good.

April 20, 1999 – 13 students are killed in the Columbine massacres.

April 20, 2010 – The Deepwater Horizon oil well explodes in the Gulf of Mexico, killing 11 workers and begins the start to a five month-long oil spill.

OK, so those might be the only two significant events during my lifetime, but here are a few others. At this point, it’s just creepy.

1775 – The American Revolutionary War begins

1792 – French Revolution begins

1998 – Adolf Hitler is born. Enough said.

1914 -Ludlow Massacre

Weird right!? Ok, here’s to thinking of a better blog post next time around 🙂
